Sault Ste. Marie and area has some of the most outstanding scenery for boating in the world. Almost every community, small and large, along Lake Huron's North Channel offers sheltered docking facilities. In Sault Ste. Marie, pleasure craft may enter Lake Superior through the Canadian Canal, located on St. Marys River, the Canal closes annually on October 15th.
