Searchmont Resort is nestled in the heart of Algoma and at the base of a mountain on the Canadian Shield. Located among rock formations formed millions of years ago and a thick boreal forest, our Mountain's rugged beauty is truly awe inspiring. It is here that landscape exemplifies the spirit of Canadian geography and identity.

Our mountain is not a valley, ridge, or knoll. With a 750 foot vertical, this is a mountain with personality. When blanketed in sparkling, fresh from the sky snow, your skis and boards will savour a natural, rolling terrain experience like no other in the Midwest. Eighteen trails vary in their adventure and about half are a kilometre (0.6 miles) or longer. Top that off with short lift lines and Canadian hospitality, and you've got yourself a winter experience you won't soon forget.

In summer and fall, Searchmont Resort is your ideal base for exploring the Northern Ontario Wilderness! Hundreds of miles of single and dual sport trails lead to must see locations like the Goulais River Falls and High Banks. Guided ATV'g, mountain biking, hiking, paddling, and birding - we can customize a package that suits your fancy. For the fisherman, surrounding rivers and lakes are great to angle for brook/lake/rainbow trout, northern pike, and smallmouth bass.

No matter the season, stay on site in one of twelve fully equipped villas or four rustic chalets. We often have special events happening on site (i.e. art/culture shows, adventure challenge race, ACR train events) and/or you can package your stay with a visit to Sault Ste. Marie and all it has to offer.
